Childhood sweethearts Holly Traynor, a solicitor, and Ronan Prenty, a solutions architect, celebrated their wedding at Clonabreany House on October 24th, 2025, shot by Forever Social and planned by The Bridal PA. The couple first met as teenagers at Skerries Community College and eventually took their relationship around the world, including a three-month trip through South-East Asia that ended with a memorable proposal in Bali.
Ronan proposed during the couple’s final stop in Bali, choosing a balcony overlooking the sunset in Uluwatu. After celebrating at El Kabron beach club, the surprises continued when they returned to Dublin to find both families waiting in the airport arrivals hall with a flash mob. "The moment ended up going viral on TikTok, getting over 1 million views! We will never forget it."
Holly’s skincare became a major focus in the six months before the wedding after she struggled with acne despite trying a range of expensive products and treatments. A consultation with dermatologist Dr Richard Watchorn led to a course of Roaccutane, which Holly says transformed her skin ahead of the big day.
She also chose Jo Malone Myrrh & Tonka as her wedding scent, gifting miniature bottles to her bridesmaids. "I gave each of my bridesmaids a mini bottle for their handbags on the day; we will all forever associate the day with this scent."
Holly was nervous about trying on wedding dresses initially, but quickly found herself enjoying the process. At The White and Gold in Howth, she found the Katherine Tash Diana gown she had been considering from the beginning and knew almost immediately that it was the one. "Diana was the most comfortable yet flattering dress - exactly what I wanted."
Her younger sister Alison and close friends Niamh, Kate and Eimear made up the bridal party, all wearing classic black Odd Muse dresses. Holly had known for some time that the style was exactly what she wanted for the girls. "I'd had my heart set on the stunning Odd Muse bridesmaid dresses in classic black – they couldn't have been more perfect."
The couple chose a relaxed humanist ceremony in Clonabreany House’s Orchard Room, led by celebrant Emer Dillon. D-Strings String Trio provided the music, while readings from both siblings, a candle-lighting ceremony and a Scottish tartan handfasting added personal touches throughout.
"Our favourite part, without question, was the handfasting." The tartan was chosen as a tribute to Holly’s Scottish dad, Gordon, while Ronan’s four-year-old godson Zayn carried the tartan box down the aisle and Holly’s younger brother Oscar was entrusted with the rings.
Clonabreany House was new to Holly, but Ronan had spotted photographs of a wedding at the venue and arranged a viewing. Its exclusive-use setup, accommodation and collection of rooms surrounding the main house immediately appealed to the couple, giving their guests the chance to stay on site throughout the celebrations. "The moment I arrived, I fell in love – it was exactly what we wanted in a venue."
Darren from Sax Appeal handled the evening entertainment, beginning with a saxophone entrance to Fred Again’s ‘Adore U’ before returning after dinner for a DJ and sax set. One of Holly’s bridesmaids also arranged a surprise Irish dancing performance for the guests.

The couple’s favourite planning decision was to go straight into their wedding photos after the ceremony, giving them time together before rejoining their guests for the drinks reception. Their only regret came later that night when their supply of Tayto sandwiches failed to keep up with demand.
"Worst Decision - not ordering more Tayto sandwiches for our after-hours celebrations in the Clonabreany sheebeen/residents bar! They were a HUGE hit amongst our guests at 2 am!"
