Showcasing a magnificent 18th-century orangery, 80 acres of magnificent woods and elegant manicured gardens, Tankardstown House in County Meath is truly one of a kind. Paediatric physiotherapist Emma Speares and teacher Daniel Scott certainly shared our sentiment, hosting their wedding in the manor on February 21st, 2025. With soft taupe and powder pink details, this early spring wedding felt effortlessly romantic, photographed by Signature Photography.

The pair initially had crossed paths in their youth, but it wasn't until they met again as adults that Danny made his move! "We met for a date to go for a walk at Castle Leslie, which I ended up being 3 hours late for because I had met friends that morning for a walk in a forest and had gotten lost and needed to be rescued to make my date! Danny thought I was going to stand him up, but he waited patiently for me."

In August of 2023, while on a holiday in southern Croatia, the pair were spending the afternoon in Dubrovnik's famed old town. While meandering down a quiet street, Danny dropped to one knee and asked Emma to marry him. She, of course, said yes!

On their wedding day, both Emma and Danny chose to wear fragrances from Rituals. The bride-to-be opted for Roi d’Orient, a powerful and sophisticated eau de parfum with smoky amber, rich musk, and a subtle touch of white pepper. Her groom selected L'Essentiel, an aromatic and spicy scent featuring warm notes of cardamom, earthy patchouli, and smooth sandalwood.

"I went dress shopping with my Mum. It was the second dress I tried on, and I just knew it was going to be the one! I loved the crochet material and shape of the dress with the winged veil. I visited two wedding dress suppliers and tried on all the different shapes and sizes, but I kept going back to the same dress. It just felt perfect for me."

When it came to Daniel's ensemble for his wedding day, he was certain that he wanted to go for a classy and timeless look with a tuxedo and velvet jacket detail.

For her bridal party, Emma's bridesmaids were her cousin Tara and two best friends, Emma and Dawn. As two of the girls were out of the country in the run-up to the wedding, Emma decided to take matters into her own hands, ordering one of the satin halter neck dresses she had seen online, trying it on herself to check the fit and then ordering their sizes and hoping for the best!

"Our ceremony was filled with family and friends being involved, and it was just perfect. My favourite part was walking out with my new husband to Dreams by the Cranberries!"

From the moment they arrived, Emma and Danny knew Tankardstown House was special. “We went to view Tankardstown House and fell in love with it. Beautiful, elegant and intimate”. The orangery and gardens were brought to life with soft taupe and powder pink tones, filled with dreamy pampas grass and flowing tulle.

For their evening entertainment, the couple hired Sugartown Road and a 360 photo booth for guests to enjoy during the dancing. "We loved the variety of music, and our dancefloor was absolutely packed the whole night."

Regarding the best decision, Emma said, "Doing a first look before the ceremony!"
