A grand Palladian-style resort nestled amongst the Wicklow Mountains, Powerscourt Hotel offers an unrivalled 5-star experience and was the perfect venue for the wedding of account manager Kate Bennett to audit senior manager Jamie Campbell on the 9th of August 2025. Captured by Christina Brosnan Photography, it felt only fitting that the place where their paths first quietly crossed would become the place where their future officially began.
The couple were actually both working in the Powerscourt Hotel while in college, but in different departments, so they didn't officially meet until the Christmas Party in January 2017 at Druids Glen. Luckily, their mutual friend played cupid and set the pair up on a double date the following month. "We hit it off immediately, and from that night onwards, we’ve been inseparable."

"We were due to meet friends for our Christmas night out on 22nd December 2022, which was arranged in Powerscourt Hotel, as we tend to go every year at Christmas as our little tradition. We went down to the Christmas tree to have our photo taken, and when no one else was around, Jamie got down on one knee. He has never been the best at surprises, but this was the best one I could have ever imagined."

Having decided not to do anything too drastic, but still wanting to ensure that her skin was glowy and hydrated, Kate started a monthly facial routine for 6 months at South William Clinic. For her fragrance, she chose Le Labo 29 Noir. With notes of fig, vetiver, and tobacco, it's deep, rich and utterly aromatic.

Kate has known for years that she always wanted to walk down the aisle in a Suzanne Neville Dress, and before she was even engaged, spotted a dress on Instagram and fell in love. The next obvious destination after she had the ring was the Sharon Hoey boutique with her mum and sisters. She tried on a few, but knew straight away when they pulled out ‘The Stravinsky’ that it was the one.

"Since Jamie had six groomsmen, we wanted to get all the tuxes together, so we went to Protocol for Men on Dawson Street. They were brilliant to work with."

For her bridal party, Kate had her two sisters, Eva & Amy, and three best friends, Lucy, Cristín, and Jade, by her side. "The dresses were chosen from Maids to Measure. I knew I wanted something fun, pink and vibrant." Each bridesmaid chose their own dress silhouette, as Kate wanted to make sure they felt comfortable in whatever they wore, and we certainly think it paid off!

"We had a Catholic ceremony in Dalkey Church, which meant so much to us, as my parents and grandparents were also married there. My favourite moment was walking down the aisle with my Dad and catching eyes with Jamie at the top of it. It was the most special feeling."

When it came to venue, Powerscourt Hotel felt like an obvious choice. "We knew there was never going to be another venue as special to us. The minute we stood in the ballroom, we knew there was no point in viewing any other venues. We booked it that very day."

"Spring Break was the band we had. We chose them as we had heard great reviews and knew they would be so entertaining and fun, which is exactly what we wanted to bring to our wedding. The dance floor was never empty."

"The best decision was having our drinks reception outside in the secret garden of the hotel, as the weather was so beautiful that day, the sun was shining and not a cloud in the sky. I think it reached 25 degrees that day."

"It’s hard to fault the day, but we probably regret not spending more time at the reception and getting to mingle with everyone before sitting down for dinner."
