With a stunning 18th-century manor house and the picturesque grounds, Ballymagarvey Village in Navan was an enchanting venue for the wedding of receptionist Chloe Magill to production operator Lindsey Haugh on the 9th of June 2025. Captured by Magills Film & Photography, planned in under a year, this late-summer celebration was a family affair, with Chloe's brother and sister-in-law taking charge of the photography and videography!
Lindsey and Chloe are childhood sweethearts, having met during their last few years of high school at just sixteen and seventeen years old. The two became fast friends, spending more and more time together until it became clear there was something special between them. What started as a teenage friendship turned into a love that’s lasted through every season of life since.

"Eleven years after we first met (yes, eleven!), Lindsey finally popped the question. Over the years, we fell completely in love with travelling together, having previously interrailed around Europe and explored Thailand. In 2024, we decided to take a year out to travel Southeast Asia, visiting Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and Indonesia, before heading on to Australia. Toward the end of our time in Australia, we rented a car and travelled up the East Coast. Lindsey later admitted there were a few stops along the way where he thought about proposing, but the timing just never felt quite right. That all changed when we took a boat trip to Magnetic Island. While exploring, we stumbled across a gorgeous secluded beach and an old shipwreck called the PS George Rennie. Lindsey suggested setting up the camera to take a photo — but instead, he secretly pressed record, got down on one knee, and proposed. It was an incredibly magical moment and the most beautiful way to end our time travelling together, a memory I will treasure forever."

For her beauty journey, Chloe focused on healthy hair and glowing skin rather than making any dramatic changes. "I have quite sensitive skin, so keeping my skincare simple was important to me. I stuck to what I knew worked and avoided trying anything new in the lead-up to the wedding." She supported her hair and skin from within by taking vitamins like biotin and keeping up a regular hair-oiling routine. She also incorporated a red light therapy mask into her routine in the weeks leading up to the wedding. Just over a week before the big day, she had dermaplaning, which made her makeup sit flawlessly.

"I also wanted a signature scent that would always remind me of the day. I explored a few Chloé fragrances (ironically) and chose Chloé Le Parfum. I still keep it on my dresser, and every time I smell it, it brings back the most beautiful memories."

Finding her wedding dress was one of the things Chloe was most excited about, and because the couple had just eight months between the proposal and the wedding, it was also one of the first things she did. "I’d always dreamed of a fairytale ball gown, but I also loved the look of a fitted dress, so I felt quite torn going into the process. I went dress shopping with my mum and my sister. At the first boutique, I thought I’d found “the one,” but I had another appointment booked and wanted to keep an open mind. When I visited the second boutique, she brought out a dress that instantly ticked every box. It was a fitted gown from my favourite designer (Martin Thornburg- this is actually why we chose this store, as it did his dresses) with beautiful corset detailing, paired with the most stunning, light, flowing train attachment. The moment I stepped out and heard my mum and sister gasp, I knew it was the one. One piece of advice I’d give is that once you’ve found your dress, stop comparing it online—constantly looking at other styles can really make you second-guess your choice. I truly loved my dress; it was everything I’d hoped for. In the evening, the train came off, and I was able to dance the night away."

Lindsey wanted a look that felt classic and timeless while still complementing the day's overall style. He had always known where he wanted to go for his suit, having previously been a groomsman at his brother’s wedding and loving both the suits and the overall experience. "We visited Freddie Hatchett in Belfast together, where they truly gave us the full experience—from offering us drinks to taking their time to find Lindsey the perfect suit. He chose a classic tuxedo, which perfectly suited the sophisticated, timeless theme we were going for."

Chloe had five stunning bridesmaids: her sister as her maid of honour, her lifelong best friend Kelsa, and three gorgeous nieces. "While I thought finding bridesmaids’ dresses would be easy, I actually found it one of the more challenging parts of the planning process. I love neutral tones and was drawn to the 2025 colour of the year, Mocha Mousse, which was exactly the shade I envisioned for the dresses." After ordering several samples, she eventually found the perfect colour on a website called Stacees. Once the dresses arrived, Chloe took them to a local seamstress to have each one fitted perfectly, which really brought the whole look together.

"The ceremony was incredibly special, with my Christian faith at the heart of it, which was most important to me. We had Reverend Colin Morris conduct the ceremony, whom we got to know really well in the months leading up to the wedding, and he made it so personal, weaving in many of Lindsey's and my favourite moments and memories. The amazing Ellen Maguire sang all of our favourite songs, filling every moment with such emotion and beauty. Walking down the stunning Ballymagarvey aisle to the smiling faces of all our friends and family—and seeing Lindsey waiting at the end—was a moment I will truly never forget."

The couple had looked at a few gorgeous venues, but nothing gave Chloe that special feeling—until her brother and sister-in-law, who run Magills Film and Photography, suggested they check out Ballymagarvey. "We went to one of their open days, and it was absolutely everything I could have wished for and so much more. I actually welled up the moment I stepped into the courtyard where they had fire pits lit and music playing, and I knew without a doubt that this was where I had to have my wedding." Ballymagarvey had only two dates available that year, so, in a way, the venue chose their wedding date for them.

"We were lucky to have some incredible entertainment. Just after dinner, fiddler Adam went absolutely flat to the mat on the fiddle, getting everyone on their feet and setting the perfect tone for the evening party! Later, we had the infamous DJ Magiggs keeping the dance floor alive all night. He really personalised the music to us, mixing in our favourite genres and finishing with a song from one of our favourite musicals, The Greatest Showman. It felt like the perfect fairytale ending, like the credits rolling after the most magical story. His talent and energy made the evening feel unforgettable and set the tone for an epic celebration."

"It’s hard to narrow it down, but I feel like choosing Ballymagarvey as our venue really made our day a fairytale, with everything flowing effortlessly from start to finish. Another standout decision was having my brother and sister-in-law capture our day through photography and videography. They know us so well, and that came through in every photo and clip—they are incredible storytellers. Having these moments to look back on forever is so important. The memories they’ve preserved for us are priceless."

"The only advice I would give is not to spend too much time second-guessing little details—whether it's comparing dresses or fiddling with minor decor decisions. It’s so easy to get caught up in tiny things, but in reality, none of that matters once the day comes. Focusing on the people, the love, and the moments is what really counts."
