If you're a total design nerd like me then you've also been eagerly awaiting Pantone's colour of the year for 2020. For the uninitiated who have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about, Pantone are the people who name and standardise every shade imaginable so that they can be easily reproduced for digital, home or fashion designing. Each year they release what they call the "Pantone Colour Of The Year", running for 20 years Pantone’s experts look for influences among different mediums, from fashion and art to socio-economic conditions and new technology and select a colour that they feel represents the coming year. This year the colour they've chosen is classic blue, a cool neutral shade of one of natures most complex shades (Did you know that blue pigment is incredibly rare in nature, the colour of blue that we see on animals and plants actually comes from certain refraction of light that gives them their blue appearance, despite not actually containing any true blue pigment).
PantoneYou may see this colour popping up in magazines and across social media throughout 2020 but have you ever considered making it the theme of your wedding day? Adding in a dash of blue stays in line with tradition (Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue), and it also makes for a refreshing accent to an otherwise overwhelming day.
