For the week that's in it, we've decided to look at some tasteful ways to incorporate every colour of the rainbow in your special day. Yes, we may be thinking of the rainbow flag, but whether you're gay or straight, there's something to be said for putting the rainbow into your wedding. If you can't decide on a colour scheme, this is the perfect solution.

This is definitely one of our favourite bridal parties. It's perfect, if you can't narrow your bridal party down and you don't want seven identical girls running around your wedding. They can also decide between themselves who wants which colour, and your white dress will really pop next to all those colours.

Rainbow shoes

As for the groomsmen, they don't need to be left out of the rainbow coloured action. Give them brightly coloured ties, rainbow socks, colourful boutonnieres or any other rainbow accessory you want. You can get very creative without sticking them in rainbow suits, that might be a bit too much.

The sweets and the wedding cake is definitely one of our favourite ways to inject your colour scheme into your special day and there are a few different options if you're going for a rainbow theme. For a start you can think about having an actual rainbow cake, to keep it nice and simple, but still showing off your colours once it's cut into. You can also opt for your rainbow on the outside without going overboard. We love these hearts on top of a white cake.

Don't forget about the overall décor of your reception area. Everything from drinks and invitations, to chairs and lanterns can be colour coordinated to match your rainbow theme. We particularly love these rainbow coloured pinwheels, especially for a garden wedding or an outdoor drinks reception.
