We're well into the Christmas spirit at S&P Weddings this week and not only do a lot of men pop the question around this time of year, but a lot of brides-to-be choose to tie the knot around this time of year too. For brides thinking or a Christmas time wedding, we have ten solid ideas you can incorporate into your magical day.

Christmas cake

We love Christmas weddings, not just for the magical, festive feel, but for the colour scheme. For a start, the snow white backdrop that we think of in winter make it the perfect time to be thinking about your wedding dress. A deep burgundy shade is another powerful colour that will pop against winter white. Red and green might sound a bit tacky for a wedding but in reality, your flower foliage should take care of an injection of muted green, while a deep marsala shade will tone down the red.

Christmas macarons

We love adding holly and sprigs of pine to a Christmas wedding, whether it's in the form of favours or dressing up tables. Be sure to give your guests a festive feeling when they arrive at their tables. We also love these cute stockings for their cutlery. Alternatively you can use baubles as place cards, and even hang them from a Christmas tree in the venue if possible.

Christmas stockings

There are plenty of sweet Christmassy treats you can give your guests around this time of year too, from Christmas cupcakes to hot chocolate stations. These are definitely one of our favourite detail to add to a festive, winter wedding to give your guests something to warm up with and enjoy. Take full advantage of the venue's Christmas decorations, as they're bound to up your decorations.
