If you’ve picked up our latest issue, you’ll have noticed a deviation from the traditional with some of the trends in our SS 2017 runway report. For the modern bride, there were plenty of chic, tailored pant suits gracing the bridal runways and straying from the norm. For brides who were never looking for a ‘dream dress’ and more of a ‘dream outfit,’ the hottest bridal designers have answered the call.

Lela Rose 2017

With elegant, fitted suits, to daring, lace jumpsuits and everything in between, designers such as Naeem Khan, Monique Lhuillier and Lela Rose all featured pants in their latest bridal collections for brides who want to leave tradition behind. We adore the sleek design of Carolina Herrera’s buttoned up pantsuit. With crisp, straight lines, it’s the embodiment of an elegant bride.

Similarly, this Christian Siriano design has sophisticated, straight legs and a fitted jacket on top, but with a little more grandeur to its detailing, with peplum-style ruffles at the hips.

Speaking of grand detailing, Rosa Clara is never one to shy away from pushing the boundries, and her pantsuit was daringly different, but with a strong hint of traditional bridal splendour in the form of a large ruffled bow.

Naeem Khan opted for something a little more bridal in material and style, with an open lace designed jumpsuit with a sensual, plunging neckline.

For brides who are intrigued by the notion of wearing pants but still long for the magnificence that a grand, bridal skirt brings, you can still have it all. Monique Lhuillier gave brides the opportunity to enjoy the sophistication and individuality of a pantsuit, with the majesty of a trailing skirt in the form of a peacock tail-like train of organza.
