It’s no secret that lately, here at S&P Weddings, we have fallen in love with non-white wedding gowns. From digital prints and bright florals to dusty romantic grey dresses, we have shared our love of all things bright and coloured on the wedding day. It looks like that love was thoroughly and masterfully reciprocated earlier this week at Bridal Fashion Week, where the biggest names in bridal fashion had beautiful non-white wedding dresses glide down their catwalks in truly swoon-worthy colours – champagne, rose blush and ocean blue.
Don’t get us wrong, we adore the traditional, pristine white wedding gown. But white, as it goes, won’t suit everyone’s taste. We are huge fanatics of embracing your own personal style, taking on a brave colour or even suiting your gown to the season or colour scheme you have chosen to marry in. Whatever you’re reasoning, we applaud those of you who refuse white for a more personal colour.
This year at New York Bridal Fashion Week, designers were instilled with that same rebellious fire we feel when it comes to tradition. Along with their beautiful white dresses, they have also offered us stunning off-white gowns in romantic champagne gold, sky blue and rose blush. Bright and beautiful, these colour gowns offer us a truly elegant take on wedding dress colours. They still retain the same feeling of ceremony that a white gown will give, while allowing you to inject that extra little bit of your own personality and taste.
